Here's the deal

On February 4, 2012 Wesley was in a skiing accident and broke his neck. He is 16 years old and is planning to graduate high school this year. There are not many 16 year old boys as amazing as he is. He is kind, thoughtful, and good looking.to date on his progress. I will make sure Wesley gets to read every comment this blog receives. My siblings and I will try to keep this blog current.

Wesley is thoughtful

Written by: ryanne on an ipad so don't judge On Saturday after Wesley was brought to the the hospital the doctor had to secure his neck and head to relieve his spinal cord of pressure and to straighten the bones and the cord. The doctor told Wes straight up that this would be very painful. They took what looked like a metal c clamp and above each ear began to twist screws into his head. They were able to numb it a bit. They twisted the screws till it reached to a certain point in his skull. At that point they tied a a rope to the top of the c clamp and it hung off the bed. They added five pounds and then used a real time x ray to watch his neck. That wasn't enough so they had to add five more pounds. Again, this was not enough. With 15 pounds attached to his head his neck was straightened. This procedure was painful and Wes endured it well. However, this is not what touched my heart. After learning what was going to happen and the pain involved, Wesley spoke to my dad privately and asked him to make sure Mom was far enough away that if he were to cry out in pain she would not hear him. My brother is thoughtful, even in a time where most people would be thinking only of the pain they were experiencing. I love Wes so much. Thanks again for your prayers and comments. They mean a lot to us.

  1. Ryanne, can you tell wes that me and ally love him and have been praying for him and are very proud of him for everything that he has endured. He deserves the best beacause he is so amazing so we have asked our school to say a pray for him whenever they can( even if he is from three forks)

  2. I can't believe how strong Wes is with all that he is facing. You find out a lot about a person when they have to face such a difficult trial. What we've learned about Wesley is that he trusts in the priesthood, thinks of others before himself, loves his family, is a smiling happy person, and prefers the Giants :) What a stud!

  8. Ryanne,
Even if I don't know you and you don't know me either, I met Wesley when last school year was starting. I was in Three Forks High School as an exchange student from Mexico. The point is that I wanted to let you guys know that we're praying for Wesley, you, and all the family down here in Mexico and Texas. Let God do his will.

  9. Ryanne,
We love you, and are constantly thinking good thoughts and sending prayers your way. I am so sorry that you all are having to live through this nightmare. You and your family were such a big part of Rex's growing up years, and he is thinking of Wes at this painful time.
